8/28/2012 12:02pm

Playwrights Horizons (Tim Sanford, Artistic Dir; Leslie Marcus, Managing Dir) has announced it will once again present its annual benefit evening STORIES ON 5 STORIES.  This year’s event, set for Monday evening, Oct 22, will feature new works by eight artists, including seven of the theater’s alumni writers.  The evening will consist of new short plays by  Jon Robin Baitz (“The Substance of Fire”), Neal Bell (“Spatter Pattern”), Jessica Goldberg (“Refuge”), Kirsten Greenidge (“Milk Like Sugar”), Itamar Moses (“Completeness”), Bruce Norris (“Clybourne Park”); and a musical piece by Todd Almond (“Melancholy Play”) & Sarah Ruhl ("Dead Man’s Cell Phone”). Each play will be performed in a different, unconventional space throughout all five stories of Playwrights Horizons’ home at 416 W 42nd St and the entire evening will benefit the company’s developmental programs and productions. This year, writers explore the notion of Poetic Justice. Tickets can be reserved by visiting www.PlaywrightsHorizons.org or by calling 564-1235 x3143.
