The National Alliance for Musical Theatre (NAMT) announced additional casting for the 24th Annual Festival of New Musicals on Thurs Oct 11 & Friday, Oct 12 at New World Stages (340 West 50th St)...

Sutton Foster will star in THE CIRCUS IN WINTER, Ben Clark & Beth Turcotte’s musical based on the Cathy Day novel where legend and lore collide under the big top. Also joining the cast are Steel Burkhardt, Brian Sutherland & Kate Rockwell. Victoria Bussert directs and Matt Webb will be the music director.

André De Shields will star as Guy Fawkes in BONFIRE NIGHT, Justin Levine’s musical about the plot to blow up Parliament in 1605. Jeremy Morse, Omar Lopez-Cepero & Eddie Wardel also join the cast which includes Santino Fontana, Chris Hoch & Wade McCollum. Sam Buntrock will direct, with Kimberly Grigsby as music director.

Timothy Warmen, Annie Golden & Bryce Ryness star in Brendan Milburn, Rachel Sheinkin & Valerie Vigoda’s SLEEPING BEAUTY WAKES, directed by Rebecca Taichman with music direction by Brad Haak.

Drew Aber joins Demond Green, Kenita Miller, Alysha Umphress & Emily Walton in Kirsten Childs’s FUNKED UP FAIRY TALES, a collection of delightfully twisted urban fairy tales for sophisticated children and grownup kids.  Jerry Dixon directs, with Steve Marzullo music director.

Nancy Opel & Damon Daunno join Robin DeJesus, Sarah Stiles & William Ryall in BLEEDING LOVE, an original musical by Jason Schafer, Arthur Lafrentz Bacon & Harris Doran, a wickedly demented, post-apocalyptic fairy tale for grownups. Stephen Brackett directs. Jason Wetzel is music director.

Bryce Ryness, Dana Steingold & Margot Siebert star in TRIANGLE by Curtis Moore, Thomas Mizer & Joshua Sher, directed by Meredith McDonough with James Sampliner as music director.

Adam Kantor, Lauren Molina, Nicole Lewis, Heath Calvert & Kelsey Kurz are featured in NOBODY LOVES YOU. Joining them are Asmeret Ghebremichael, Phoebe Strole & Etai Ben Shlomo. Mike Pettry joins the team as music director. Michelle Tattenbaum will direct Itamar Moses & Gaby Alter’s musical which is a behind-the-scenes look at a dating reality television show.

Annette O’Toole, Jeff McCarthy, Natalie Joy Johnson, Robin Skye, Allison Briner, Lizzie Hagstedt & Joel Waggoner will be joined by  Randy Redd & Andy Taylor in SOUTHERN COMFORT. Tom Caruso will direct Dan Collins & Julianne Wick Davis’s musical which is based on the Sundance award-winning documentary about transgender friends living in rural Georgia.  Emily Otto is returning as music director.
