Labyrinth presents 13th Annual Barn Series

Labyrinth Theater Company (Stephen Adly Guirgis, Mimi O’Donnell, Yul Vázquez Co-Artistic Dirs; Danny Feldman, Managing Dir) has announced their Winter lineup of free play readings for the 13th Annual Barn Series, to be held at the Bank Street throughout the Company’s 2012/13 Season.

Labyrinth Company Members Craig ‘muMs’ Grant, Marco Greco, and Lucy Thurber, and as part of Labyrinth’s ongoing partnership with Playwrights of New York (PoNY), Tommy Smith, will all present new work as a part of the exciting second step of Labyrinth’s unique play development process. 

Free, and open to the public, the Barn Series provides playwrights the vital opportunity to hear their latest works out loud and in front of an audience while still being deeply engaged in the delicate process of shaping and refining these dynamic new plays.

ZERO By Tommy Smith (Feb 6 & 7, 8:00 PM)

When an aspiring young architect receives a grant to work on his studies in a swanky condo for a year, the pressure of producing work overwhelms his psyche and forces him to externalize his inner turmoil, causing an increasingly aggressive relationship with his otherwise indifferent doorman.

EAST OF LA BREA by Marco Greco (Feb 18 7:00 PM & 9:00 PM)

"Me, I provide them with a safe haven to blow off some steam.  Give em an opportunity to be a winner, in a town full of losers. They f**king love it here, right Bobby?  The camaraderie, the thrill of victory, the agony of defeat. A god damn place to PLAY. A place for them to be IN, in a town where their OUT!"
