Mon Jun 3 The 31st Annual Fred and Adele Astaire Awards (Patricia Watt, Prod) will be presented at the NYU Skirball Center (566 LaGuardia Pl). The awards are given to honor dancers and choreographers on the Broadway stage and in film. This year’s awards will honor Marge Champion, with the The Douglas Watt Lifetime Achievement Award, and a special award will be given to Ted Chapin of the Rogers and Hammerstein Foundation for his outstanding contribution to Musical Theatre. Special tribute will be paid in celebration of both Marge and Ted, with live musical performances by some of Broadways greatest Divas, the pas de Deux from The New York Philharmonic's performance of “Carousel”(choreographed by Warren Carlyle and performed by NYC Ballet's Robert Fairchild and Tiler Peck), as well as live dance performances by the newly re-instated American Dance Machine & special appearances from Susan Stroman and Lee Roy Reams.
