Drama League Centennial Gala will Honor Bernadette Peters

The Drama League (Gabriel Shanks, Executive Dir; Roger T. Danforth, Artistic Dir), embarking on a landmark year of celebration commemorating its 100 years of service to the American theater, will honor musical theater icon Bernadette Peters as their Centennial Honoree.  The Drama League Centennial Gala is set for Mon Nov 2 at The Plaza (768 Fifth Ave). This   black-tie gala will include a fully-staged musical tribute drawn from Ms. Peters’ career in theater, television, music and film.  Featuring acclaimed performers from Broadway, the West End, and Hollywood, funds raised will support The Drama League’s educational initiatives for promising young artists, including the award-winning Directors Project.  For more information, please call (212) 244-9494, or visit the website at www.dramaleague.org. The lineup for the evening's one-of-a-kind musical tribute -- inspired by Ms. Peters' career in theater, film and television – includes hosts Michael Douglas and Gloria Estefan,  Joel Grey, Norm Lewis, Tom Wopat, Chip Zien, John Dossett, Ron Raines, Andrew Rannells, Debra Monk, Tammy Blanchard, Mara Davi, Jayne Houdyshell, and more; and a Special Tribute given by members of the original cast of Dames at SeaJoe Calarco directs.  The Centennial Gala Chairpersons are Anna May Feige and Stan Ponte, with Vice-Chairs Rebecca A. Gillan, Mary Jain, Julie and Rich Meister, Kari Nettles, Joseph and Lauren Pizza, Elaine C. and W.
