The Alliance of Resident Theatres/New York (A.R.T./New York), the service and advocacy organization for New York City’s 360 nonprofit theatres, will celebrate 44 years its annual spring gala on Mon April 11, beginning at 6:00 PM at Tribeca Rooftop (2 Desbrosses St). The evening will be hosted by celebrated three-time Drama Desk nominee Julie Halston. This year, A.R.T./New York will honor Jessie Mueller & Andy Truschinski with The Abe L. Blinder Award for public service and arts education. Acoustician Joe Solway and international multi-disciplinary engineering and consulting firm, Arup will receive The Kathy and Howard J. Aibel Award for theatrical innovation and excellence. The 2016 gala program will feature “mini musicals” written specifically for honorees by Lyricist Timothy Huang and Sara Wordsworth. The program will be directed and choreographed by Terry Berliner, with musical direction by Arri Lawton Simon.
