MTC's Annual Spring Gala Set for 5/16
Manhattan Theatre Club will present its annual Spring Gala on Mon May 16 at Cipriani 42 St (110 East 42nd St) honoring Marie T. Gallagher, Senior Vice President, PepsiCo, Inc. This year’s gala will be hosted by Tony Award-winning playwright and performer Sarah Jones and features performances by many of the most acclaimed musicals on Broadway including "Bright Star", "The Color Purple", "Fiddler on the Roof", "Jersey Boys", "Motown The Musical", "Shuffle Along", and"Waitress". Featured appearances will include Carmen Cusack, Danielle Brooks, Phoenix Best, Carrie Compere, Adrianna Hicks, Carla R. Stewart & Rema Webb; Danny Burstein, Jessica Hecht, Adam Kantor, Ben Rappaport, and Nick Rehberger, Stephen Cerf, Rory Max Kaplan, Michael Lomenda, Dominic Scaglione, Jr., Candi Boyd, Sara Schmidt, Kara Tremel, Allison Semmes, Dana Marie Ingraham, Trisha Jeffrey, Elijah Ahmad Lewis, Adrienne Warren, Christopher Fitzgerald. The evening will be co-directed by Manhattan Theatre Club’s Artistic Director Lynne Meadow and Richard Maltby Jr. The creative team includes Philip Rosenberg (lighting design), Leon Rothenberg (sound design), and Jason Michael Webb (music direction). The MTC Spring Gala co-chairs are Joseph H. Gleberman & Thomas F. Secunda. The Spring Gala begins with cocktails at 7:00 PM, followed by dinner and the gala performance beginning at approximately 9:15 PM. All proceeds from this annual event will support MTC’s mission as a leading non-profit theatre company developing and producing contemporary plays on and off-Broadway, as well as its renowned education program, which deepens students’ understanding of themselves and the world through the medium of theatre.
