Producers Daryl Roth & Hal Luftig have announced the full cast and creative team for the World Premiere of KINKY BOOTS, the new musical with a book by Harvey Fierstein and Music & Lyrics by Cyndi Lauper. Directed and choreographed by Jerry Mitchell the musical will play the Bank of America Theatre (18 W Monroe St in Chicago, IL) beginning Tues Oct 2 (to 11/4) in advance of a B’way opening. Stark Sands & Billy Porter lead a cast of thirty-two that also includes Annaleigh Ashford, Celina Carvajal, Daniel Sherman, Marcus Neville, Paul Canaan, Kevin Smith Kirkwood, Kyle Taylor Parker, Kyle Post, Charlie Sutton, Joey Taranto, Andy Kelso, Tory Ross, Jen Perry, Josh Caggiano, Aaron Bantum, Adinah Alexander, Eric Anderson, Eugene Barry-Hill, Stephen Berger, Caroline Bowman, Sandra DeNise, Eric Leviton, Ellyn Marie Marsh, John Jeffrey Martin, Nathan Peck, Robert Pendilla, Lucia Spina, Sebastian Hedges Thomas, Marquise Neal & Clifton Oliver. The design team will include David Rockwell (Settings), Gregg Barnes (Costumes), Kenneth Posner (Lighting), John Shivers (Sound), Telsey + Company (Casting), with Musical Supervision, Arrangements and Orchestrations by Stephen Oremus. In “Kinky Boots”, Charlie Price (Sands) is forced to step in and save his family’s shoe factory in Northern England following the sudden death of his father. Help comes from the unlikeliest angel, a fabulous drag performer named Lola (Porter). Together, this improbable duo revitalizes the failing business, while stepping out from their fathers' shadows and transforming an entire community through the power of acceptance.
