The Entertainment Community Fund and Playwrights Horizons announced today that New York City creator and performer Alex Tatarsky is the 2024 recipient of The Mark O’Donnell Prize, an annual prize presented to an emerging theater artist in recognition of their talent and promise. Playing with perceptions of language and narrative structure, Tatarsky’s live performances are highly responsive to venue and audience, often breaking the fourth wall and embracing humor to reveal vulnerability and humanity. Tatarsky's latest project "Nothing Doing," co-commissioned by Playwrights Horizons and Under the Radar, will be presented January 8-18, 2025 at Chemistry Creative in Brooklyn as part of Under the Radar Festival's Under Construction work-in-progress series. The Mark O’Donnell Prize is funded by the Entertainment Community Fund and is made possible by a gift from Steve O’Donnell in memory of his brother Mark. Press contact: DKC/O&M (212/695-7400)...
