The York Theatre Company (James Morgan, Producing Artistic Dir; Marie Grace LaFerrara, Executive Dir) has announced the cast and creative team for the second production of its Fall 2024 “New2NY” series. In TWIST OF FATE, with book and lyrics by Lissa Levin and music by Ron Abel a fortuneteller is arrested in 1970’s Los Angeles, and to win the respect of her teenage daughter, fights the law instead of running from it. But first, she needs the respect of her court-appointed attorney. Based on an actual first amendment case, "Twist of Fate" is directed by Bill Castellino, with musical direction by Ron Abel. Perfs run Sept 7 - 15 with an Opening on Sept 8 at The Theater at St Jean’s (150 East 76th St.) The cast is David Baida , Joanna Carpenter, Allyson Kaye Daniel, Lianne Marie Dobbs, Ben Jones, Maya Lagerstam, Jillian Louis, Cal Mitchell and Eric Phelps. Casting is by Michael Cassara Casting. Christine Catti is Production Stage Manager.The next offering in the series is "Monte Cristo," (Sept 21 - 29) from bookwriter and lyricist Peter Kellogg and composer Stephen Weiner (The Rivals). Monte Cristo will be directed by Peter Flynn (Smart Blonde) with choreography by Marcos Santana and music direction and orchestrations by David Hancock Turner. Closing the series will be InunDATEd (Oct 4 - 13), a new musical with book by Alice Scovell and music and lyrics by Christine Lavin directed by Christine Pedi with music direction by Beth Falcone.
