THE 24 HOUR PLAYS (Mark Armstrong, Artistic Director; Madelyn Paquette, Managing Director) have announced the artists scheduled to appear in The 24 Hour Plays on Broadway on Mon Oct 21 at 7:00 PM at The Town Hall (123 W 43rd St). The annual gala features distinguished artists from the New York entertainment community coming together for one night only to create, rehearse, and perform six new plays. Artists scheduled to appear include actors Brett Azur, Ato Blankson-Wood, Devon Bostick, David Burtka, Catherine Cohen, Rachel Dratch, Dylan Gelula, Morgan Siobhan Green, Josh Hamilton, Rachel Hilson, David Krumholtz, Elizabeth Marvel, Jamie Neumann, Larry Owens, Jen Tullock, Constance Zimmer, Avantika, Ignacio Diaz-Silverio, Henri Esteve, Ari Graynor, Margarita Levieva, Delaney Rowe, Faith Salie, Lois Smith and Sarah Steele; directors include David Auburn, Satya Bhabha Sherri Eden Barber, Will Frears, Victor Malana Maog, Pippin Parker and Gaye Taylor Upchurch; and writers include Rachel Bonds, Douglas Lyons, Mario Correa, Josh Koenigsberg, Meredith Scardino and Steve Yockey . This year, The 24 Hour Plays on Broadway will honor the inaugural 2007 class of The 24 Hour Plays: Nationals with The 24 Hour Plays Creative Community Award. The event co-chairs are 2007 alumni Sherri Eden Barber and Josh Koenigsberg. Each production kicks off the night before, when artists and production staff gather for a “meet and greet” to get acquainted and generate inspiration for the show. Writers create new short plays overnight, with actors and directors receiving their scripts early in the morning.
